Copper 3D-Printed Electrodes for Ammonia Electrosynthesis via Nitrate Reduction

چکیده

Ammonia is critical to the world economy. However, nowadays production of ammonia exclusively carried out by well-known Haber–Bosch process, which an energy-intensive process that leads a large amount CO2 emissions. The search for alternative routes mandatory sustainable and zero emissions future Electrochemical nitrate-to-ammonia conversion emerges as suitable achieve decentralized at small scale with perspective. Here, we fabricate copper electrodes three-dimensional (3D) printing technique, allows point-of-use customizable fabrication electrochemical systems, use them conversion. By using fused filament Cu-based were prepared in easy, fast, scalable way from Cu-containing filament. electrode was used conversion, obtaining outstanding faradaic efficiency (FE) 96.5% high selectivity 95%. copper-based system paves on-demand, production.

3D Printed Dry EEG Electrodes

Electroencephalography (EEG) is a procedure that records brain activity in a non-invasive manner. The cost and size of EEG devices has decreased in recent years, facilitating a growing interest in wearable EEG that can be used out-of-the-lab for a wide range of applications, from epilepsy diagnosis, to stroke rehabilitation, to Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI). A major obstacle for these emergin...

Photochemical Copper Coating on 3D Printed Thermoplastics

3D printing using thermoplastics has become very popular in recent years, however, it is challenging to provide a metal coating on 3D objects without using specialized and expensive tools. Herein, a novel acrylic paint containing malachite for coating on 3D printed objects is introduced, which can be transformed to copper via one-step laser treatment. The malachite containing pigment can be use...

3D printed microfluidic devices with integrated versatile and reusable electrodes.

We report two 3D printed devices that can be used for electrochemical detection. In both cases, the electrode is housed in commercially available, polymer-based fittings so that the various electrode materials (platinum, platinum black, carbon, gold, silver) can be easily added to a threaded receiving port printed on the device; this enables a module-like approach to the experimental design, wh...

Utilising copper screen-printed electrodes (CuSPE) for the electroanalytical sensing of sulfide.

A mediatorless sulfide electrochemical sensing platform utilising a novel nanocopper-oxide screen-printed electrodes (CuSPE) is reported for the first time. The state-of-the-art screen-printed electrochemical sensors demonstrate their capability to quantify sulfide within both the presence and absence of an array of interferents with good levels of sensitivity and repeatability. The direct sens...

Recent Progress towards the Electrosynthesis of Ammonia from Sustainable Resources

Ammonia (NH3) is a key commodity chemical of vital importance for fertilizers. It is made on an industrial scale via the Haber Bosch process, which requires significant infrastructure to be in place such that ammonia is generally made in large, centralized facilities. If ammonia could be produced under less demanding conditions, then there would be the potential for smaller devices to be used t...
